This will be a very busy and fun week as we prepare for our 100 Day of School celebration.
The children will continue to work on comprehension, decoding, and reading for fluency in reading.  They will learn about words with the long /e/ sound.  They will read "A Team of Fish" and "Animal Teams" .  They will identify the main idea and details in the stories.  They will also compare and contrast  the stories by using a Venn Diagram.  They will be reading several stories in guided reading about the 100 Day of School.  They will continue to review and learn new vocabulary.  The children will listen to the story "Elephant  and Piggies We are in a Play" and learn about content clues within a story.  This story is the play the children will see on Friday at the Nashville Children Theater.
      In math the children will continue to work on addition and subtraction facts.  They will continue to add two digit numbers and learn about place value.  They will review counting to 100 by 1's, 2's, and  5's. They will do several activities with estimation and counting using tally marks.
     The children will write several narratives during the week as they prepare of our 100 Day of School Celebration.  The children will do many other activities as they prepare for their special day.

CLASSROOM REMINDERS:

• All children should read an AR book daily at home and be prepare to take a AR test the next day.  
• The children will celebrate 100 Day of School of Thursday.
• 100 Day of School posters are due on Thursday.

The children will go to the Nashville Children's Theater on Friday.
